Cologne-based composers Max Würden and Luis Reich return with Reverence, a five-track mini-LP positioned between ambient music, electroacoustic composition and the fading language of radio transmission.

Across extended, slow-moving pieces, suspended harmonies, distant brass, fragmented voices and broadcast interference are woven into a restrained electronic framework. The record moves without conventional rhythm, relying instead on repetition, tremolo, noise and gradual shifts in density.

Both artists are closely associated with KOMPAKT’s long-running Pop Ambient series, where Würden has appeared extensively both solo and collaboratively, and where Reich & Würden have previously contributed as a duo.

Reverence brings those shared interests into sharper focus: acoustic and electronic sources, anonymous signals and environmental detail occupying the same space.

A patient, quietly immersive record concerned as much with listening as with sound itself.
